the Asunafo South District Assembly under the leadership of Hon. Frank Aduse Poku on Tuesday 30th May, 2023 together with Chiefs and people of Noberkaw held a Sod-Cutting ceremony to officially kick start the Noberkaw Small Town Water Project.
This is the first initiatives unfolding under the district’s WASH programme launched in the fourth quarter of 2022. At the ceremony, the Chief of Noberkaw, Nana Basoah Kumanini led the community to officially release all lands and territories required for the project to District Assembly where the DCE on behalf of the Assembly handed over to Safe Water Networks to commence the Hundred Thousand ($100,00.00) dollar project. also a seven-member community-based liaison committee was inaugurated to coordinate the construction and operationalization of the project for a mandate of four years. Their role is to act as liaison between the people (beneficiaries) and the service providers (ASDA Safe Water Networks).
The Asunafo South District Assembly believes that this project as strategically planned will become a catalyst for more developmental activities in the sub area. It therefore expected that by the end of this year, the projevct will be due for commissioning.
