The Asunafo South District Assembly on Thursday 25th May, 2023 received their newest development partners PROJECT MAJI, an international organization specialized in providing sustainable clean water to rural communities in Ghana and other African Countries.
This move forms part of the district’s efforts toward achieving a universal WASH Coverage by 2030. The new partners, PROJECT MAJI became convinced by the district’s masterplan on water, sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), after it was marketed to them by the DCE and his delegation at the All System Connect Symposium held in the Hague, Netherlands.
During the engagement, the partners explained their mode of operation and type of systems they deal with. they revealed that, their interest mostly lies in tackling acute water shortage in fairly populated rural communities where they mechanize already existing point sources (e.g. Boreholes) and convert into multiple sources distributed across the community. this is to reduce drastically the time to access water on around trip to at most 20 minutes.
the DCE expressed his joy and willingness to work with PROJECT MAJI in solving Water and Sanitation issues in the Asunafo south District and also appreciated the collaborative effort of IRC Ghana in facilitating this partnership.
