Asunafo South Receives Health Minister, Regional Minister to Launch Free Primary Healthcare Initiative

The District Chief Executive for Asunafo South, Hon. Benjamin Yinkah, formally received the Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. Charity Gardiner, and the Minister for Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, during their official working visit to the district.
The visit was undertaken as part of activities marking the implementation of the Free Primary Health Care Initiative, a government programme aimed at expanding access to essential healthcare services.
Upon arrival, the delegation engaged with local authorities and health officials to gain a comprehensive understanding of the district’s healthcare system and ongoing service delivery efforts.
As part of the programme, the Ministers presented medical equipment to the Amankwaakrom Health Centre and the Sankore Health Facility to strengthen their capacity and improve patient care.
The donation is expected to enhance the quality of healthcare services, support frontline health workers, and address key operational challenges within the facilities.
The visit also included an on-site assessment of healthcare delivery in the district, with the aim of identifying existing gaps and reinforcing strategies to improve primary healthcare services for residents of Asunafo South.
