The Blue Water Guard initiative has been officially introduced to the people of Asunafo South District at a colourful ceremony held at the Kukuom Traditional Council. The event brought together key stakeholders committed to safeguarding the district’s natural resources and promoting responsible environmental stewardship.
The occasion was graced by the Paramountcy of the Kukuom Traditional Council and its sub-chiefs, who lent their royal presence and support to the initiative. Also in attendance was the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Minerals Commission, Accra, underscoring the significance of the programme at the national level.
All heads of security agencies within the district were present, including commanders from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service, and the Ghana National Fire Service. Their participation reflects the collaborative, multi-agency approach being adopted to ensure the success and sustainability of the initiative.
Proceedings were led by the Asunafo South District Chief Executive, Hon. Benjamin Yinkah, who presided over the official introduction of the Blue Water Guard at the Kukuom Traditional Council. The DCE commended the collective effort of traditional authorities, state institutions, and security agencies in championing this important cause for the benefit of the district and its people.
