The Divisional Chief of New Sawereso, also known as Seinua, NANA AGYEMANG KATAKYIE III has led an initiative to bring development to the doorstep of the people of the New Sawereso in the Asunafo South district. The Development project which will see construction of new maternity block has also yielded multiplier benefits including the donation of 3 motorbikes and a refrigerator for the health facility, a projector and desktop computers for the School and waterpoint and cash donation to Naketey D/A Basic School.

The effort of the Chief forms part of the Asunafo south District’s collaborative efforts with the Traditional Councils of the district in ensuring universal health and education coverage in line with UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 3. Through this initiative, the New Sawereso CHPS will see a massive face-lift in the area of health care delivery.

The initiative led by the Chief as already mentioned, is supported by individual Philanthropic groups from the United States interested in supporting vulnerable communities with difficulty in accessing quality health care and education. Being convinced by the proposal of the Chief Seinua, NANA AGYEMANG KATAKYIE III, the group agreed to extend their support through the construction of a maternity block for the community. As part of the processes to getting the project underway, the group led by the Chief of New Sawereso paid a courtesy visit on the Asunafo south District to formally introduce themselves to the District.

The DCE warmly welcomed them and expressed his joy for their prompt response to the identified health and education needs of the people of Seinua. He assured them the maximum support and cooperation of the Assembly and hoped that many more of the Assembly and hoped that many more of such initiatives would extend to other settlements of the New Sawereso Divisional area.
