An officer from the Centre for Local Governance Advocacy (CLGA) paid an official visit to the Asunafo South District Assembly to conduct a sensitization session on the 2025 Public Financial Management Compliance League Table (PFMCLT) assessment.
The visit was aimed at briefing management and relevant departmental staff of the Assembly on the revised assessment framework and the indicators that will be used in evaluating Public Financial Management practices across Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in Ghana.
During the session, the CLGA officer explained the key components of the assessment and the type of documentation and evidence required from the Assembly. The presentation focused on five major areas within the Public Financial Management cycle: development planning, composite budgeting, procurement and contracting, accounting and reporting, and auditing.
Officials of the Assembly were given the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on issues related to the assessment process. The engagement also emphasized the importance of transparency, accountability, and adherence to proper financial management procedures in the operations of local government institutions.
The visit formed part of nationwide efforts by the Centre for Local Governance Advocacy to prepare Assemblies for the upcoming 2025 PFMCLT assessment and to strengthen public financial management systems across the country. The Asunafo South District Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to complying with the guidelines and improving its performance in public financial management.
