The Asunafo South District Assembly has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the welfare of teachers by donating 200 sets of tables and chairs to teachers in schools across the district.
The presentation was made by the District Chief Executive, Mr. Yinkah Benjamin, who officially handed over the items to the Asunafo South District Director of Education on behalf of teachers in the district.
The gesture is aimed at improving the working conditions of teachers and providing them with adequate and befitting furniture to carry out their duties effectively, as part of the Assembly’s broader agenda to support the education sector within Asunafo South.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the DCE, Mr. Yinkah Benjamin, noted that the provision of furniture for teachers is a significant step towards enhancing staff welfare, particularly as many teachers across the district’s schools have long contended with inadequate or worn-out furniture.
He further stated that the Assembly remains dedicated to prioritizing the needs of teachers, noting that their welfare is central to the district’s development agenda, as motivated and well-resourced teachers are key to improving educational outcomes in Asunafo South.
Receiving the items on behalf of teachers, the Director of Education expressed profound gratitude to the DCE and the Assembly for the timely intervention, noting that the new furniture would go a long way to boost staff morale and improve the day-to-day work of teachers across the district.
The Asunafo South District Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting teachers and schools within the district, with plans to extend similar interventions in the future.
