On Thursday, 5th June 2025, Honourable Benjamin Yinkah led a delegation comprising the Ahafo Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), representatives from the Ghana Education Service, heads of various departments of the District Assembly, the District Coordinating Director, and the Head of Administration of Kukuom Agric Senior High School in a significant “Tree for Life” planting exercise.

Thousands of tree seedlings were planted as part of this initiative, in alignment with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision to promote environmental sustainability through the Tree for Life campaign. Honourable Yinkah underscored the vital role trees play in improving the quality of life for the people of Asunafo South, highlighting their contributions to atmospheric purification, climate resilience, and ecological balance.

The Headmaster of Kukuom Agric Senior High School expressed his appreciation to the delegation for selecting the school as a site for the exercise and assured them of the institution’s commitment to nurturing and maintaining the planted trees to ensure their growth and longevity.

Tree planting remains a critical national effort, offering far-reaching benefits including climate change mitigation, biodiversity conservation, and environmental enhancement. This initiative reflects a collective responsibility towards securing a greener, healthier future for all Ghanaians.
